Western Transmission (Gujarat) Limited had implemented the laying of 477 km 400 kV double circuit transmission line as part of the Western Region System Strengthening Scheme Project C in the State of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh subject to the terms and conditions of the implementation agreement dated 23rd November, 2007.

The Project consists of the following transmission lines with a total transmission line length of 487km, constructed in the following 3 sections:

  • Limbdi – Vadavi (L-V) 400kV Double circuit (D/C) line: 103km
  • Vadavi – Kansari (V-K) 400kV D/C line: 141km
  • Rajgarh – Karamsad (R-K) 400kV D/C line: 243km

All the three lines have been commissioned, achieved commercial operation and are currently operational.

Commercial Operation

The commercial operation (“COD”) of the lines were achieved as follows:

  • Limbdi-Vadavi Line circuit-1 and circuit-2, COD was declared on 19th April, 2011
  • Vadavi-Kansari Line circuit-1 and circuit-2, COD was declared on 16th November, 2011
  • Rajgarh-Karamsad Line Circuit-1, COD was declared on 29th December, 2015 and of Circuit-2 the COD was declared on 16th December, 2015.

The lines have been constructed on Build, Own and Operate basis for a period of 25 years. The Issuer has always maintained surpassed the normative availability of 98%.
